A geriatric care manager can work with both children and parents. He or she can guide children in coming to respect parents’ dignity and wisdom in making their own decisions. A care manager can engage parents in discussing decisions they can make while still healthy and mentally competent. He or she can empower parents to take action and make decisions that control how their legal and financial affairs and personal care will be handled when they can no longer manage their own affairs.
Planning ahead
